Hair Loss

Most people have a love/hate relationship with their hair. Many love to dabble with its colour, texture, length, shine. But we all want to keep our head hair.

Suddenly losing your hair due to illness, trauma, menopause, medication or else can be quite confronting.

Chinese medicine, as always, will look at the root-cause of your hair loss. For example, most (peri)menopausal women with sudden hair loss have an underlying Blood or Yin deficiency. Trauma may cause Kidney Qi or even Jing deficiency etc.

These deficiencies need acupuncture, but more importantly, herbs, herbs, herbs.

While you wait for your appointment, start rubbing ginger juice (just squeeze the juice out of freshly grated ginger) into the affected areas – daily! It increases blood flow and supports the hair roots.
