Cold Weather

With the weather unusually chilly, it is a great opportunity to analyse what Cold does to our body according to Chinese medicine. Cold (be it cold weather or even an air conditioner blowing onto you in summer) likes to enter your body and settle predominantly in the joints and muscles.

If you are prone to arthritis, it can worsen your joint pain; Not warming up properly before exercising, can lead to Cold settling in muscles and tendons;

Period pain may get worse; the ache from Cold can be quite severe, almost like a knife wound.

What to do?

As usual, prevention is best: keep warm (layers!), gentle warm-up before exercising, warming foods;

If you are already affected: warm up the muscle and the joint, don’t exercise until the pain has gone; us warming oils on the affected area, eat warming foods; And of course, get a warming Chinese herbal formula and acupuncture with moxa on the affected area 😊
