Chronic Fatigue

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is extreme fatigue without an underlying medical condition.

The typical Symptoms are:

  • Fatigue that doesn’t improve with sleep

  • poor memory/ concentration

  • unexplained muscle/ joint pain

  • sore throat

  • enlarged lymph nodes

  • headaches, and more.

In Chinese Medicine, fatigue suggests a deficiency, a lack of some substance, be it either Qi (Energy) and/or Blood deficiency, which, eventually, leads to a loss of Yang. Many factors can trigger the initial fatigue, such as

  • A deep, draining illness that depletes the body’s resources

  • Long-term stress with nutritional imbalances. This creates stagnation within the body and, as a result, hinders the working of the digestive system, causing the deficiency.

The ideal treatment involves acupuncture and herbal remedies to move & tonify Qi & Blood and calm the Mind.
